Description

The morning blocks of the workshop will be focused on preparation and tuning into the state of "readiness". We will explore our physical and mental imagination and cultivate our ability to lead and create, as well as follow, emerging material. During the afternoon blocks, we will observe and discover the ways in which we can use this physical readiness in improvisation and immediate composition. Then we will use our knowledge in performances for each other.

Our overall intention will be to shed light on how somatic practice can enrich the creator-performer's relationship with his own body, his approach to generating material, the ways in which he communicates with partners and colleagues, and subsequently transfer these layers into performance. Part of this process is cultivating and honing the ability to be in the moment and follow ways of looking at things and giving feedback.
